Quality Assurance & Testing Officer

About the role

You’ll be working alongside our production team to ensure that the work we release to clients is of the highest quality. Under the guidance and mentorship of our Head of Production you’ll be responsible for formulating and executing on our approach to QA, building on our already significant understanding of best practice in this area.

This is a learning role with fast career progression for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Creating, owning and evolving test plans for each of our clients - during production and post-launch, across the life-cycle of the products we produce and support.

  • Ensuring that QA intersects the production process at appropriate points in a way that is as effective as possible, while being minimally disruptive to the flow of production.

  • Ensuring that QA is appropriately applied to all support work, allowing fast and safe turnaround of tickets.

  • Appropriate accessibility testing and site performance testing.

  • As well as manual testing, the development and implementation of automated testing where appropriate.

  • Effective feedback to management of recurrent issues, and potential productivity improvements, based on learning and data derived from the QA process.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Experience in a QA role, with some knowledge of automated testing tools.

  • Tonnes of enthusiasm for the web and for the role of ensuring our output meets the high standards we promise to clients.

  • Fantastic attention to detail and a good eye for ‘common sense’ issues throughout the production of information architecture, design and delivered product.

  • A methodical approach to work, which also considers opportunities to raise efficiency and turnaround times.

  • Appreciation of the importance of QA ‘everywhere’ - across accessibility standards, browsers and devices.

  • Ability to work to deadlines, willingness to ask for help and ask questions, good general workplace presentation and collaboration skills.

  • Workplace experience in an agency, client side or freelance digital role is desirable.
